• Welcome to my Blog!

I'm a wedding photographer located in Normal, IL. Yeah, that's really the name of the town where I live. You could say, this is as close to normal as I will ever be. LOL Anyway, this is my online journal that I will use primarily to update everyone with what is going on with my latest wedding clients. Come here to see photos from my latest wedding, engagement session or even some personal work from time to time. I will try to post on a regular basis so come back often and feel free to share a comment or ask a question.

Although I live in Normal, I photograph weddings all over the state, out of state and out of the country from time to time. So let me know where you will be celebrating your special day, I would love to come and capture the day for you.

Cain + Tara | 08.21.10

What a great wedding! Tara and Cain along with their lively wedding party really made the day full of fun. We started at Holy Cross in Champaign, which is both breathtaking on the inside and out. Tara wore custom dyed blue heels that matched perfectly with the bridesmaid’s accents on their dresses. The courtyard at Holy Cross was just perfect for Tara and Cain to see each other for the first time. After the ceremony, we went to an abandoned farm at request of the bride and groom. As if the color in the wedding party clothing and flowers didn’t pop enough, the colors on the walls here were definitely accentuated. We finished the night off at the Round Barn. Overall — another wedding successfully captured!

Castles, Abbeys, Oratorys and Graveyards | Ireland 2010

Well this is the last of three posts about Ireland. If you haven’t seen the others. The first post was about Mary and Steve’s gorgeous wedding. The second post was a conglomeration of personal vacation photos, some taken my me others by Susan and the rest by Katelyn, those can be seen here: Ireland We spent one full day crisscrossing throughout West Central Ireland, Co Kerry, in the area known as the Burren. In a very ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ fashion we climbed stone fences, crossed cow pastures in our hunt for lost castles of Ireland. What a blast we had and we brought back some interesting finds. Here is but a sampling of what we found.

In the caption of each photo will be designated with the initials of the person who took the photo.  SR-Susan Romine, KT-Katelyn, MR-Mark.

Bare Feet, Cowboy Boots and Allerton park | Audra + Eric e-Session

Although we started out at Allerton Park for Audra and Eric’s engagement session we did not finnish there. After doing a few quick shots at the park we moved on to an abandoned farm not far from the park. With an August sun setting fast we worked quickly around the old barn, grain elevator, highway and flatbed truck to get some great photos of this gorgeous couple. The setting sun provided all the texture and warm colors that we needed to get some memorable photos. Gotta luv Audra’s sense of style with the bare feet and later Cowboy boots. Great jopb guys, you are going to have a fun wedding next June. Can’t wait until then.

Morgan + Wes | E-Session

Morgan and Wes will be our last wedding of 2010 for they are getting married on the very last day of the year.  What a way to close out one year and to get a new year under way. I’m especially looking forward to their wedding because I have known Morgan’s mother for several years now because we are both members of Bridal University. She is also the owner of Michelle’s Bridal Shoppe in Champaign. So Morgan has grown up in and around the wedding industry.

Early evening summer engagement sessions are always fun to shoot with the days starting to get shorter we have gorgeous light and long shadows to play with. Downtown Champaign provided the backdrop for our session this time, giving us the urban look that we were after. As we continued to work the light got softer and the shadows got longer and we think we ended up with some great photos. We enjoyed working with you guys and we can’t wait until your wedding gets here. Hopefully it will be a little cooler by then.

Kendal + Eddie | E-Session

We recently finished shooting the engagement session for Kendal and Eddie. Being late summer we were able to incorporate some summer roadside flowers. We love shooting engagement sessions with our client because it helps to get to know them a bit better in preparation for their wedding day. Their not too far away wedding date on 10.09.10 at Funk’s Grove is coming up rapidly. This is one of our favorite local spots for ceremony’s and with an early October date we could be all set up for some great color. Their reception is immediately following at the new Uptown Normal Marriott hotel. A location that has inspired some great photos from us in the past, I know we will certainly be looking forward to working there again too. Kendal and Eddie are a pretty laid back couple and even though they have never done a photo session together before they were quite comfortable with the entire process. Great job guys and we are really looking forward to you fall wedding.
