Wesley Church Wedding | Emily + Steve 5.04.13

Another Wesley Church wedding! This was a wedding that Jess and I have been excited about and looking forward to ever since working with Emily and Steve last fall when we photographed their engagement session. A lovely spring day with a few rain drops to dodge throughout the day but no serious rain. Really a very pleasant spring day for a wedding! We started our day at  Wesley Church in Champaign where we captured a few getting ready photos of Emily, the family portraits and a few individual portraits of Emily and Steve. They chose not to see each other before the ceremony but they still wanted to have a ‘moment’ before the day got crazy. Emily later told us that she cheated and stole a look at Steve while he kissed her hand with his eyes closed.:) The ceremony went off without a hitch and it was on to the Memorial Stadium for their reception. We spent a few minutes dodging rain drops with a brief stop at the Arboretum before our final stop at the Stadium. A fun reception followed. All and all a great day for Emily and Steve! Congrats guys!

A big cheer for the help and support provided by Jess and Hannah!

Ewing Mansion Engagement Session | Megan + Aaron

A springtime Ewing Mansion engagement session in the rain! Break out the umbrellas. This is such a lovely location in the spring! The Bluebells, crabapples and redbuds were in full bloom on this day. Needless to say Megan and Aaron picked a prefect location for their engagement session even though we had to dodge rain drops for awhile. I liked how Megan had all the clothing colors well coordinated to go with the bluebells.:) Rain, umbrellas and the Ewing Mansion what could make for a more romantic location in Bloomington? If you have never done a photo session as a couple it can feel a bit intimidating in the beginning but you could never tell it by  looking at Megan and Aaron. They seemed as comfortable and clam as could be. They didn’t let the rain rattle them and it actually added a nice touch to all their photos. Well done guys! We can’t wait until your wedding this fall. They have planned a wedding and reception at the Chateau for early fall.

Chicago Engagement Session | Sheetal + Gautam

A wonderful Chicago engagement session on a beautiful spring day near the Chicago river. If there is one thing that is evident regarding Sheetal’s personality, she loves to laugh! And who can make her laugh best, Gautam, no question. We had a blast walking around this near North side neighborhood pausing to take a few photos here and there as we went. Such a pleasant spring day and we even made time to stop at a local Irish pub for a little refueling.:) They have a late August outside wedding ceremony planned at the Itasca Westin hotel that they are getting really excited about. They still a few minor details to work out in the planning but all the big stuff is locked down. Should be a great time and I’m really looking forward to meeting both families and to find out where Sheetal gets her sense of humor from. I love photographing South Asian weddings with all the brilliant color, can’t wait! Congrats guys, great job!

Wedding In Chestnut IL | Christina + Taylor 3.23.13

We recently had a wonderful opportunity to photograph a wedding in Chestnut IL. A tiny little farming community in Central Illinois. Albeit only a couple days into spring and we already had a gorgeous day presented to us with sunny skies! Although Chestnut is tiny, Christina and Taylor didn’t have any problems filling nearly every seat in the Lutheran Zion Church on North Logan St. Family and friends came from near and far to show their loving support. We started our day with the getting ready craziness at the farm house of Christina’s parents. Bridesmaids everywhere, nine to be exact! Laughter, silliness and excitement filled the air and before we knew it it was time to head the church for family portraits and a mid-afternoon ceremony. First on the docket, once we got to the church, a first look moment between Christina and Taylor. Followed by a bride and groom gift exchange that included a collection of favorite hand written family recipes put into an album that Taylor assembled and gave to his soon to be announced wife. Hmmmm, good thinking Taylor! But he also gave Christina a gorgeous silver neckless to wear on their wedding day. Before we knew it the church was full and it was time to begin the ceremony. After the ceremony everyone headed to Champaign to the Hilton Garden Inn for a evening filled with fun, dinner and dancing. Congrats to Christina and Taylor! May you have many many happy years ahead of you.
