Let me introduce you to Emily and Tony both formerly from Peoria but now living in Chicago. They have planned a late fall wedding in Peoria at St Mary’s Cathedral with reception to follow at the Metamora Fields Golf Club. They are the proud and happy owners of Extreme Sounds Entertainment and Lighting. So with their background, experience and connections they have some pretty fun things planned for their reception, for  starters, a real live Mariachi band! Look out Jess! With the great chemistry between these two coaxing a smile out of them was pretty effortless. Great job on your session guys, keep on smiling and we will be looking forward to working with you this fall.

We have been busy with lots of springtime engagement sessions and Megan and Andrew are the latest. Most couples have never been photogrpahed so intensively in such short period of time as our engagement sessions. So they’re a great way to get over the photography heebee jeebees before the wedding day gets here. After all, there’s not too many of us, including myself, that want to get in front of a camera for long periods of time. So we try to make it easy, relaxed and fun. Megan and Andrew not only survived they actually did quite well! Megan, as most brides, had perfectly selected coordinating outfits that worked well for their urban session. They have a mid-summer wedding planned for this year with their ceremony at 2nd Press Church and reception to follow at The Chateau. We are excited to be working with you guys!

What an incredible spring we have had in Central, IL this year, which in turn makes for great engagement photo sessions. Laura and Wes elected to split their session into part rural and part urban with a clothing change in between. We started on the ICC hill and then moved into Peoria Heights to get the urban look. While in Peoria Heights we ran across some of their old buddies from the Peoria Heights Chapter of the Hell’s Angles Motorcycle Club, they were all too anxious to join Laura and Wes in a group photo so who was I to say no (brides who says ‘no’ to the Hell’s Angles?).  Many of you probably didn’t even know that they were club members.  Great job guys, can’t wait for the wedding, it should be a blast!

Gotta love these springtime colors! Let me introduce Jon and Jenny, they have an early August outside wedding planned for this summer. In the ‘Oak Grove’ at the Arboretum, a gorgeous little spot near where these engagement photos were taken. Reception to follow at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts which I’m very excited about shooting at for the very first time. This was such a pleasant and relaxed session, at least for me,  on a gorgeous spring day. One thing that I learned about Jenny from their session is how she is a real stickler for details, her family and friends probably already know this. But notice how she so thoughtfully planned and selected her red sweater  to perfectly match the color of her new Turbo Charged VW Beetle that she affectionately calls the Kung Powmobile! Well done Jenny! I can only imagine what this means for your wedding. Nice job guys you both did well. Very much looking froward to your wedding day.

Another year of beautiful weddings kicked off last weekend!  David and Anthea were the first of our 2012 couples to tie the knot!  We started the day at the beautiful Champaign Country Club and did some photos of the bride and groom just before they got to see each other for the first time on their special day.  As always this moment did not disappoint!  Anthea assured me that it was usually David who was the emotional one but today she was drying her tears of joy.  What I loved about this couple is that you never saw them without each other the entire day.  Often the bride and groom get separated because there is so much going on.  These two seemed to make it a point to stay by each other’s side the entire day and I thought that was really neat.  After all, it is THEIR wedding day!  A big thanks to David, Anthea, and their wonderful families for making the start to 2012 a great one!  We wish you the best in your new life together as husband and wife!

Anthea’s ring was so unique.  What is especially neat is that a number of the stones have been passed down in David’s family.  How special!  I loved it!

I’m happy to say that with winter being so mild this year it has given us an opportunity to squeeze in some engagement sessions without it being too terribly miserable. It’s also allowing a number of our clients to be able to get an engagement session completed in time to be able to use some of their photos on our custom designed Save-the-Date cards as well as a custom designed Guest Book.

Being that Allison is a Bloomington native we choose to do their session in and around Funk’s Grove which affords us the opportunity to include some rural landscapes and old farm out buildings. They brought along their four legged buddy Max and with this combo we were able to get some great photos to document their engagement. The day was gorgeous, the temps were pleasant and Allison and Charles were ready for some photos! Great job guys!

They have planned an outside fall wedding in October of this year at the gorgeous Ewing Manor, we can’t wait!

Gorgeous winter day at Allerton Park! The sun was beaming giving us great rim light and long shadows to play with as only a winter sun can do. The temps were a tad bit nippy but Chelsea and Joe gritted it out and we brought home some great photos of the two of them. They’re obviously very much in love and it shows in the way they interact and look at each other. They must have been made for each other for they seem to be a perfect fit. Luv the black dress w/heels and Joe’s suit, very classy! Great job guys, your wedding is going to be a blast!

They have an early September wedding planned with their reception at the iHotel. Looking forward to it.

Here is a look back on all of the wedding rings of 2011.  It’s always fun trying to find the perfect spot to photograph the wedding rings.  Our creative minds really get a workout during this part of the day.  I like to ask if the grooms had to get help in picking out the perfect ring for their bride.  I always find myself proud of the guys that did it completely on their own.  Then again, it’s a lot of pressure so to get another opinion is completely understandable!  Either way, hats off to the guys in picking out some great rings last year!

Our plan over the winter was to do Keri and Andrew’s engagement session in the snow. With our winter being so warm this year we had pretty much given up on that idea. In fact, we went ahead and scheduled it with the idea that we would not have any. Low and behold, the night before their session we got just enough to cover the ground and provide for a lovely background of powered snow. It was perfect! You know, you have to be a trooper to want photos this time of the year and I have to hand to these guys, they were and they and their photos look great! Nicely done guys!

They are planning a fall wedding 2012 with their reception at the lovely Uptwon Normal Marriott. We can’t wait!
