I so love my job and this wedding is another example of why. Being able to capture the love between Kate & Markus reinforced that feeling. When you look through these photos, I think it will be evident to any viewer that they have a special relationship.
When Kate and her mother came for their consultation here at the studio a few months ago and told us that they were planning an outside October farm wedding, I was beside myself. I was sooooo excited for even being considered to be the photographer for their wedding that I could hardly sit still in my chair. I guess that didn’t scare them off.
Having grown up on a small farm in Central Illinois, I really enjoy farm weddings. The color, textures and openness just somehow get my creative juices flowing. Anyway, this is a classic story of big city girl meets farm boy and they fall in love.
For as long as I can remember the month of October is typically one of the best months for weddings in Central IL from a weather perspective, but for some reason this October has been running 10-15 degrees below normal (I think we have seen the sun on only three days so far this month). Well the day of their wedding arrives with a prediction of a high of only 51º and rain; that is just what we got. The temps hovered between 49-51 all day with drizzle, rain and sprinkles. They were determined to get it in, one way or another… and they did. Hats off to all their guests who stuck around and didn’t pack it in. If they had they would have missed seeing one beautiful wedding.
There were some incredibly cool things that happened at this wedding including the giving of one special gift (see if you can figure out what that was by looking through these photos).
Anyway, great wedding and thank you guys for having us be there!
Ms. Katelyn thank you for your usual awesome support and effort in bringing home some great images to complement what I got!
I also wanted to personally thank the wedding planner Sara O’Shea, for all her help and support she did a great job! This was the first time that we have ever worked together. Here is what she had to say about the photos today after she saw them. In many ways she says it better than I do.
“Hi Mark,
Wow….the slideshow took my breath away. I’m not even kidding – everything you and Katelyn captured was just so “real.” Everything is just such a true reflection of Markus and Kate and that day. I loved every image that was on there and I am just truly overwhelmed – it was all so honest – I love that.
Do you mind if I share the link to the slideshow on my blog? I can’t wait to share it so others can catch a glimpse of what a truly magnificent wedding it was. It has truly been the highlight of my “career” so far (if you consider 2 years a career – ha!)
Thanks for everything!”
