Say goodbye to summer and welcome back our guest blogger D’Shannon with a timely fall post on…
Lips… How to keep your pout pretty all day can be a concern for most blushing brides. Sipping sodas & eating sandwiches is the normal pre-ceremony routine, but after the “I do,” smooching your sweetie can leave you with a look that is a little less than picture perfect. Here are two great options for staying fresh all day.

- Long-wear Lipstick: If applied properly, this can be a real no fuss ally for a long day. After choosing your perfect shade, apply on completely dry lips that have NO other products on them. DO NOT rub your lips together at all. You can comfortably close your mouth, but do not rub. Wait about 2-5 minutes for the product to set. Then follow up with any other products you choose. If you MUST, you can use a liner, but only AFTER the product has set fully. Then use the gloss that accompanies the lipstick, and reapply as needed.
- Stain: If you really cannot bear the thought of wearing longwear lipstick, your next best bet for all day wear is a stain. Stains come in any shade now, and you can even find great stains at the drugstore. A stain can be worn under other lip products or alone, and will also be applied to completely dry lips. You don’t have to wait for it to set, or worry about feeling dry during the day. In most cases this will be very long lasting, you might even wake up with it on, but you may still want to carry a gloss or lip conditioner to maintain shine and softness.
Certainly you can choose the good old fashioned reapply, in which case you should rely on your makeup artist to use application techniques that will ensure the longest wear possible… and consider purchasing a touch up item if you don’t choose to retain your MUA’s service for the day. Remember too that straws are every diva’s friend!
